Ballers Unveil Full Vision for Raimondi Park

Following the unanimous final vote by Oakland City Council on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 to approve the Oakland Ballers' $1.6 million dollar plan to reactivate the city's historic Raimondi Park, the team is proud to unveil its full and final vision for its new home. Starting with the initial home game on June 4, 2024, the Ballers will host their 48 home games at Raimondi Park, a park renowned for nurturing baseball talent and hailed for producing "more baseball stars than any park in the country" As a result of the team's $1.6 million dollar plan fans can expect the following at future Oakland Baller's games:

  • Ballpark Amenities
    • Raimondi Park will be accessible via Oakland City's reservation system for community members to enjoy whenever the field isn't in play. This accessibility extends to the video scoreboard, perfect for hosting community movie nights.
    • The playground area near the ballpark has been repaired and updated for families and children to enjoy during Ballers' games and more.
    • All of the streets and sidewalks immediately surrounding the park have been, or will be repaved prior to opening day.
    • Youth softball and baseball leagues can enjoy the new dugouts, batter's eye, netting, fencing and back stop that has greatly improved the infrastructure of the ballpark.
    • Ballers fans can take advantage of the 4,000 seats and enjoy the colorful park layout with easy access to restrooms, food, and drinks.
  • Food & Drinks
    • A selection of standard baseball menu items including hot dogs, nachos, burgers, fries, vegetarian food options, beer, wine, cocktails, soda, and more. The Ballers will also have child friendly menu options and feature popular food trucks in rotation.
  • Transportation & Safety
    • As a part of the Ballers' environmental commitments, the team has worked to ensure fans do not need to rely on personal vehicles to access games. As a part of that commitment the team will be providing a shuttle from West Oakland Bart to the field, running continuously starting 1 hour before game time and ending half an hour after the game ends.
    • A free bike and scooter valet will be provided near Raimondi Park, with local bike groups leading cyclists to and from the park.
    • There are three (3) paid attended parking lots available for game day use, providing in excess of 1,000 parking spaces. In addition, one (1) lot will be available for rideshare pick up. In addition, an overflow lot will be made available for peak volume days.
    • Security will also be available around the park area to help manage crowd control and ensure an enjoyable experience for all attendees.

As part of their agreement with the City the Ballers have already funded major improvements to the park including: repairing the lighting and irrigation systems, and laying new sod. In the coming weeks the scope of the improvements will expand to include building out the park infrastructure, and bringing the Baller's park vision to life.

"Thank you to the residents of Prescott and West Oakland, the City of Oakland, the fans of baseball and all who believe in the Town. As the Oakland Ballers we are thrilled to bring together our shared vision for Raimondi Park, a historic landmark that will now be home to the Oakland Ballers. Together, we're building something truly special, and we're here to stay. We are working to ensure that the Ballers are the hottest ticket in town— and we can't wait to see you all at Raimondi on June 4," said Paul Freedman, co-founder of the Oakland Ballers.

In an effort to minimize ticket fees, the Ballers will be pausing ticket sales starting May 1st and unveiling a new ticketing system on Monday, May 6th. Starting May 6th, fans will be able to save $5.00 on fees for all tickets. Single game tickets bought in advance of game day will be available at $30, $25 or $15 a ticket (including fees).
