
PBL Players of the Week (Week of 6-04-24)
Hitter of the Week: Andres Rios, IF, Grand Junction Jackalopes
Rios put on a show for the 5-13 Jackalopes, collecting 12 hits over the course of the week, which was third-most in the league. His greatest feat came in Grand Junction’s 16-14 win on Thursday, June 6th, when he hit for the first cycle in Jackalopes history, going 5-for-5 and hitting his first triple of the season in the first inning. His 14 RBI was the second-most in the league as he hit four home runs and collected 28 total bases to go along with his 1.077 SLG%.
Pitcher of the Week: Patrick Maybach, P, Billing Mustangs
Maybach’s complete game shutout against the Vibes on Wednesday, June 5th won him the Week 3 Pitcher of the Week, as he shut down the Rocky Mountain offense, allowing only one hit and three total baserunners while collecting seven strikeouts. He was the only pitcher in the league to throw a complete game last week, earning him his second win in three appearances. Last week’s performance was Maybach’s third complete game during his time in the Pioneer League after going the full nine innings twice last season and his first-ever complete game shutout.
