PBL Players of the Week (Week of 5-28-24)
Hitter of the Week: Adam Fogel, OF, Missoula PaddleHeads
After only playing in four of Missoula’s six games against Idaho Falls, Fogel added crucial production in the Paddleheads’s 5-1 series win over Ogden in the second week of league action. Fogel drew nine walks and scored nine runs in the series to go along with 13 hits in 22 at-bats. He also smashed another two home runs to double his total on the season, both of which came in a tight 21-18 win on May 26. His 11 walks and 1.108 SLG on the year are second-most in the league while he leads the pack in both average (.568) and OBP (.673) after two weeks of play.
Pitcher of the Week: Tyler Curtis, P, Orem Owlz
Curtis entered his first-ever start for the league with a bang last week, going seven innings in a 9-2 Owlz win over the defending champion Ogden Raptors. This week, Curtis one-upped himself, throwing another seven innings and allowing no earned runs in NoCo’s 17-3 win over Idaho Falls. His .43 WHIP was the best of any starter in the league, as he allowed only three base runners in his appearance. Curtis’s 0.64 ERA and 0.79 WHIP in his two starts on the year both lead the league, as his ERA is nearly three runs better than the second-best mark.
