North Division Batter of the Week: Thomas DeBonville, Missoula PaddleHeads

As Missoula continues to rise, Thomas DeBonville put on a show in this week’s 5-1 series victory against the Idaho Falls Chukars. DeBonville had a .435 average with 10 hits and 10 runs batted in, hitting in every game except for Saturday’s loss. He also had four home runs, three of which were in three straight days from Tuesday to Thursday. DeBonville now has 33 hits this season with six home runs, the second-most among his Missoula teammates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

 

North Division Pitcher of the Week: Alfredo Villa, Missoula PaddleHeads

Starting pitcher Alfredo Villa had two stellar performances against the Idaho Falls Chukars this week for the Missoula PaddleHeads, leading the team to two of their five wins this week. In his first start, Villa pitched six innings and struck out 12 batters, a career high. Despite allowing nine hits, he only allowed two runs by stranding the Chukars on the bags all game long. On Sunday, Villa pitched eight more innings with 11 strikeouts and two hits, the longest outing this year. Across this week, Villa finished with 23 strikeouts in 14 innings and two wins on the bump.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Division Batter of the Week: Ron Washington Jr., Grand Junction Jackalopes

With six straight games with at least two hits and one run batted in, Ron Washington Jr. of the Grand Junction Jackalopes dominated to earn South Batter of the Week. Washington reached ten hits by the third game, ending the week with an incredible 17 hits and 13 runs batted in on a .607 average. Eight of those hits went for extra bases, including four doubles, a triple and three home runs. Washington now stands tied for first in the Pioneer League for home runs with 10, third in runs batted in with 37, and sixth in hits with 33.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Division Pitcher of the Week: Justin Kleinsorge, Grand Junction Jackalopes

Grand Junction Jackalopes started Justin Kleinsorge put his best foot forward to record his first double-digit strikeout outing on Saturday afternoon, earning him South Pitcher of the Week. Kleinsorge pitched six innings and struck out ten batters, a season high for the Jackalope. He only recorded a single walk and two runs to lead the team to a 13-6 home victory. Kleinsorge has won four games this season and has not yet lost a game.
