Players of the Week
The PBL Players of the Week awards recognize players who stood out and led their respective teams to success over the course of the past week. Each week, the PBL will select one position player and one pitcher for recognition.
The Pioneer Baseball League (PBL) announced today its 2023 award winners and All-Star team,recognizing the top performers throughout the year. This year’s awards are headlined by Ogden outfielder Reese Alexiades, who was voted the league’s Most Valuable Player. Missoula hurler Alfredo Villa won the Pitcher of the Year award.
There was a tie in the Rookie of the Year voting, leading to both John Michael Faile of Billings and Ron Washington Jr. of Grand Junction being honored. Ogden’s Dan Kubiuk rounds out the award winners, taking home Reliever of the Year.
The PBL Players of the Week awards recognize players who stood out and led their respective teams to success over the course of the past week. Each week, the PBL will select two position players and two pitchers for recognition – one from each division.

For the month of August, our honorees are: catcher John Michael Faile of Billings, outfielder Jacob Cruce of Grand Junction and pitchers Alfredo Villa of Missoula and Nico Zeglin of Rocky Mountain. In addition, this month both PBL Batters of the Month will receive a free Dynaswing Training Bat courtesy of Dynaswing.
