Pete Rose Joins Second PBL Roundup Show!
The second PBL Roundup Show took place this past week with hosts Thom Brennaman, Joe List, and Bill Bavasi, featuring the game between the Glacier Range Riders and Billings Mustangs.
Major League Baseball’s all-time hit king, Pete Rose, joined the show to talk with the hosts about a number of topics surrounding baseball and his career. Rose talked about the differences between playing styles during his career and the modern day, especially when it comes to being a lead-off hitter, which he was during his playing days. Rose also spoke about the advantages of being versatile, since he was able to make All-Star Games at five different positions, and win Gold Gloves at two of them.
The panel also touched on Rose’s relationship with umpires, and how he supports them and hopes they remain in the game. Later on, Brennaman asked Rose about what he thought about his chances of making the Hall of Fame. Rose responded by saying he doesn’t think he will get in, and expressed his disappointment that he probably won’t get reinstated, and added that he can’t even be let in the batting cages despite the Cincinnati Reds playing on Pete Rose Way.
Despite the show getting cut short, the panel of Syracuse University interns still made appearances to provide updates on the games happening around the league. They also contributed some analysis on last week’s PBL Players of the Week and the current standings.
