Hunter Dollander is still rising through the Chicago White Sox organization, and his strong showing this season hasn’t gone unnoticed. Most recently, Dollander was promoted to Class-A Kannapolis after he carved up hitters in rookie ball.

A native of Evans, GA, Dollander began his collegiate career at University of South Carolina Aiken, where he worked exclusively as a reliever. He was strong for the Pacers, pitching to a 1.93 ERA and a 1.114 WHIP with two saves and 27 strikeouts in 23 ⅓ innings, allowing just one home run all season. However, that was Dollander’s lone season in Aiken, as he transferred to Georgia Gwinnett College ahead of the 2018 season. Working primarily as a starter, Dollander had a strong four-year stretch in Lawrenceville, going 30-2 with a 3.23 ERA and a 1.277 WHIP with 268 strikeouts in 264 ⅔ innings (9.1 K/9).

Following his college career, Dollander played for the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League, and he dominated to the tune of a 1.35 ERA in 40 innings. In August of 2021, the Great Falls Voyagers picked him up, where he made two starts to close out the season. In 2022, Dollander came out of the gates firing, carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning of his first start of the year and winning the North Division Pitcher of the Week honor. After allowing just two earned runs in 6 ⅔ innings in his next start, the White Sox purchased Dollander’s contract from Great Falls.

Now with an MLB organization, Dollander kept on rolling. In two starts for the ACL White Sox, Dollander allowed just one run and five hits while striking out 15 batters against only one walk in 11 innings. Since getting promoted to Kannapolis last month, Dollander’s ERA has jumped to 4.32, but he’s only walked four batters against 17 strikeouts 16 ⅔ innings. Since allowing four runs and six hits in 4 ⅔ innings in his first start for the Cannon Ballers, Dollander has allowed just four runs in 12 innings with 13 strikeouts.
