Voyagers Fall in Game One at Missoula

The Voyagers lost the first game of a three-game series against Missoula last night at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field. They play again this evening at 7:05 M.T.

The game started out with a bang last night, as the two power hitting teams were trading home runs back and forth. Leadoff man Ryan Major kicked off the game with a solo home run out to right, starting what was a 3-hit, 3-RBI night for Major. Adam Fogel, star for Missoula, responded in the bottom of the frame with a two-run shot, also to right field.

The two teams also traded homers in the fourth. Jack Lynch had another solo shot to right field for the Voyagers, but Collin Gordon came back with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 4th for the Paddleheads, and after adding some extra insurance, found themselves up 2-8 going into the 5th.

The Voyagers began mounting a comeback in the 5th. Ryan Major came up big again with a 2-RBI double. The team put up three more runs in the 6th courtesy of some heads up baserunning, making the score 7-8. The relievers for Great Falls yesterday, Pineda, Torrealba, ane Reinoso also all performed well, going 4.2 innings scoreless combined.

The Voyagers were never able to tie up back up in the late innings, however, losing game one to the Paddleheads. Final score is 8-7. Jestin Jones is given the W for Missoula, starter Nick Marshall with the loss for the Voyagers. Tune in for game two tonight at Missoula!
