Six RBI Day For Fitzgerald Earns Glacier Road Split with Great Falls

GREAT FALLS, MT. - Ben Fitzgerald showed timely hitting on Friday night, driving in six on three hits to lead the Glacier Range Riders (2-2) past the Great Falls Voyagers (2-2) 17-11. Fitzgerald drove in runs on a double in the third, a home run in the seventh, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Bats blistered as Glacier collected 18 hits and Great Falls tallied 14 in the high-scoring game.

The Range Riders took the lead for good with one run in the fifth inning. In the fifth Crews Taylor singled, scoring one run.

Glacier Range Riders scored seven runs in the third inning. Range Riders batters contributing to the big inning included Fitzgerald, Mason Dinesen, Keenan O'Brien, Taylor, and Dean Miller, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Justin Coleman was credited with first career professional victory for Glacier Range Riders. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on one hit over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Joe Kinsky, Ryan Cloude, and Nate Thomas all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Josh Gainer took the loss for Great Falls Voyagers. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out one.

Rob Hamby started the game for Glacier Range Riders. The ace allowed eight hits and eight runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Andrew Garcia started the game for Great Falls Voyagers. The hurler surrendered eight runs on seven hits over two and a third innings, striking out four.

Glacier tallied two home runs on the day. Dinesen had a four bagger in the sixth inning. Fitzgerald had a homer in the seventh inning.

Glacier Range Riders tallied 18 hits on the day. Miller, Fitzgerald, O'Brien, Jackson Raper, Dinesen, and Taylor all collected multiple hits for Glacier Range Riders. O'Brien, Fitzgerald, and Miller all had three hits to lead Glacier Range Riders.

With both Saturday and Sunday's games getting postponed, the Range Riders escape their opening road series with a split and will return home this Tuesday, May 30th. First pitch against the Billings Mustangs on Tuesday is scheduled for 7:05 PM at Glacier Bank Park.
