Clutch Hitting Propels Voyagers to Win

Voyagers Produce Third Comeback Win of Series
(Great Falls, MT) – Saturday night showcased a lot of offense from both the Mustangs and Voyagers. Billings got off to a hot start leading the Voyagers 5-0, going to the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Voyagers then turned around and scored four runs of their own in the bottom of the 3rd. Riley Jepson got things started with an RBI groundout. Jaylyn Williams then doubled down the line to score Xane Washinton. Giovanni DiGiacomo and Anthony Herron Jr. rounded out the inning with RBI singles, making the score 5-4. Billings headed into the 4th inning. But not to be outdone, the Mustangs roared back and put up four runs in the top of the 4th inning.
After a couple of scoreless innings and the score 9-4 Mustangs, the Voyagers bats came alive in the bottom of the 6th, scoring seven runs to take the lead 11-9. The inning was capped by a Herron Jr. single, which scored two runs, allowing the Voyagers to take the lead.
Billings scored one run in the top of the 8th to bring the Mustangs within in one run, but that was all they could muster for the rest of the game. The Voyagers added insurance runs in the bottom of the 8th and secured their third come-from-behind victory of the series. With this win, the Voyagers maintained sole possession of first place in the North Division second-half standings at 8-3. The Voyagers will look to win the series Sunday morning with a game time of 11:30am.
