Voyagers Pitching Dominate in Win

Voyagers Win First Game of Series
(Great Falls, Mt. ) The Great Falls Voyagers (25-37) needed a win on Friday night versus the Glacier Range Riders (37-26) to catch up to the Missoula Paddleheads, who had lost tonight. The Voyagers did just that as they came from behind once again to get the victory on Friday night, 6-4.
The Voyagers got behind as they gave up one run in the top of the 3rd inning to the Range Riders but came back in the bottom of the third. Nick Emanuel got a single to left in the bottom of the 3rd and came home on a homerun over the left field wall by Charley Hesse for a 2-1 lead after three innings. Both starting pitchers pitched very well until the 6th inning when both were chased as the Range Riders scored 3 in the top of the 6th to take a brief 4-2 lead.
The Voyagers bounced back by scoring four in the bottom of the 6th inning. The inning got underway with a double to left center by Xane Washington. Washington came home on a triple to right by Collin Runge. Runge then came home on a wild pitch. Riley Jepson drew a walk and moved to third on a double to right by Jaylen Williams. Anthony Herron Jr. loaded the bases with a walk, and nobody was out for Ryan Peltier. Peltier responded with a single to right field, scoring Jepson and Williams. This gave the Voyagers a 6-4 lead after six innings.
The Voyagers would never look back from this lead as relief pitchers Ethan Swanson and Andrew Garcia shut down the Range Riders securing the win. The Voyagers will look to do it again in this short 3-game series as they face the Range Riders on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Voyager Stadium. The Rookie will be played following the game action on Saturday night, so come on out and don't miss your chance to see the Voyagers this season!!
