Paddleheads Even Series at One Game a Piece

Voyagers Lose Game Two To Paddleheads

(Great Falls, Mt.) - The Great Falls Voyagers (5-7) came into game two of a three-game series versus the Missoula Paddleheads (9-5) looking to record a third win in a row. The hopes for a streak were put on hold by the Paddleheads, though, as they displayed both strong pitching and strong hitting to beat the Voyagers 14-4.
The Voyagers started the game well, giving up one run in the top of the 1st but answering with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. Riley Jepson started things off with a single to left, followed by a single from Jake Malec to center. Jepson was brought home by the third single in a row from Ryan McCarthy. Colling Runge drove home Malec and McCarthy as his line drive single scored the second and third run.
The 3-1 lead for the Voyagers was short lived, however as the Paddleheads scored four runs in the 2nd inning. With a 5-3 lead, the pitching on both sides settled down, and no runs scored until the 6th when the Paddleheads scored one more to take a 6-3 lead after 6. The 7th inning saw Missoula plate another, and then the bats came back to life for the Paddleheads as they scored 5 in the top of the 8th to take a 12-3 lead.
Two runs in the top of the 9th made it 14-3, and the only bright spot in the game after the 1st inning for the Voyagers was a solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning by Runge to make it 14-4 at the final.
With the short 3-game series now tied up at 1, the Voyagers will look to take the series with a win on Thursday night before heading to Missoula for another 3-game set. Come on out and catch all the action starting at 7 p.m.
