Range Riders Plate 15 for the 50th Win in Franchise History

BILLINGS, MT. – The Glacier Range Riders (11-4) used an outpouring of offense, including three home runs and a seven run fourth, to plaster the Billings Mustangs (4-13) by a score of 15-8 Saturday night at Dehler Park.

For the sixth straight game, the Range Riders opened their scoring account in the first inning, this time with a three-run blast from catcher Matt Clayton. Tacking on to the total later in the frame was Eddie McCabe, who ripped an RBI single up the middle. One inning later, Crews Taylor picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice that score Ben McConnell.

In the fourth inning, the Range Riders exploded for seven runs. First, Taylor notched an RBI single. Then, an error on the Billings second baseman plated two runs for Glacier. Finally, Kingston Liniak and Ben Fitzgerald hit back-to-back homers to bring out the boobirds from the Mustang crowd.

In the top of the ninth, Glacier added insurance to the total with three runs. First, Ryan Cash doubled to score Mason Dinesen. McCabe scored on a wild pitch. Finally, Cash scored on an RBI groundout from McConnell.

Nick Zegna started his first professional game on the bump, firing three innings, Lyle Hibbits came out of the pen to fire four innings, allowing just one earned run, and after a scoreless inning from Drew Holweger, Justin Coleman slammed the door shut in the bottom of the ninth.

The Range Riders clinched a series victory with the win, but they will attempt to take five of six tomorrow with a matinee matchup in Billings. First pitch is slated for 1:05 PM. You can listen to the whole game on 1240 AM, 102.7 FM, or SAM1240.com.
