Mustangs KO Owlz in 8 Rounds

The longest knockout round in the history of its inception results in a Mustang win. 

Eight rounds of knockout round and Brendan Ryan wins it for the Ponies with one swing of the bat scraping the right field wall into the wind. 

Dave Matthews and Connor Denning both came up empty in round one. 

The two teams answered blow for blow over the course of the next seven rounds, with four scoreless rounds from three through seven. 

Four more scoreless rounds occurred, and Peyton Robertson came up empty in the first half of round eight, which set up for Brendan Ryan's towering wall scraper into the 25 mile an hour winds to give the Mustangs their second knockout round win in a week. 

The Mustangs initially took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Connor Denning homer. NoCo answered with three hits in a row by Euro Diaz, a Dave Matthews double, and Tim Bouchard's single, setting up for a sac-fly by Kevin Jimenez to score Dave Matthews to make it 2-1. 

The Owlz picked up a solo homer by Henry George to lead off the third. 

Will Buraconack tossed five and a third innings strong giving up just the solo homer. Luke Trueman tossed five innings giving up four runs, on nine hits and a walk with four punchouts. 

McLain Harris tossed three scoreless innings from the sixth through the eighth, which set up for a Mustang come back. 

A leadoff single by Figueredo, and a four pitch walk to Faile, set up for a RBI double by Moralez to score Figueredo. Moralez came home on a sac fly by Emmanuel Sanchez to make it 4-3. 

Denning led off the seventh with a walk and stole second which allowed Figueredo to hit him home and tie it at 4. 

Keagan McGinnis tossed a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the ninth, and Cory Wills responded with his own 1-2-3 inning to force the knockout round. 

The Mustangs are now 2-2 in knockout rounds this season and have taken their third series win in a row.
