Big Win Puts Vibes Over .500

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Big offensive outbursts were too much for the Northern Colorado Owlz to overcome as the Rocky Mountain Vibes took a 15-6 win.

Zach Ottinger got the start for the Vibes against the lanky Will Buraconak for the Owlz.

NoCo wasted no time getting started, shooting out of the gate for three runs in the top of the first.

These kinds of outbursts were what would dictate the game for both sides. There were only five frames with runs scored combined between the Vibes and Owlz. The only difference was when Rocky Mountain went on runs they took NoCo to task.

The first Vibes runs came in the bottom of the third. A Dusty Stroup RBI single would start the scoring. That hit came as one of six hits that the Vibes strung together on their way to seven runs in the inning.

Zach Ottinger went into the fifth an inning away from being in line for the win. However, after recording an out Ottinger would load the bases and be pulled with a final line of 4.1 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO. Angel Tiburcio would come to relieve Ottinger and record his first professional win. Tiburcio would escape the inning with the Vibes leading 7-6.

After that it was all Rocky Mountain. Jake McMurray would hit a two run double in the sixth inning as part of a five run vibes frame. McMurray would finish the day going three for five with 2 RBIs earning the Whataburger player of the game.

With three more runs in the third the Vibes cruised to victory going over .500 for the first time this season. Rocky Mountain and NoCo face off again tomorrow at 6:35 with fireworks after the game.
