Voyagers Muster only Five Hits in Military Appreciation Day Loss

Voyager Bats Go Cold In Loss

(Great Falls, Mt.) On Friday Night, the Great Falls Voyagers (15-30) looked to get a second win in a row against the visiting Missoula Paddleheads ( 34-13). With over 3,000 people in attendance on Military Appreciation Night, the Voyagers bats couldn't keep up with the Paddleheads in the end.
Both teams could not do anything in the first inning, but the Paddleheads scored four times in the second with help from an error and strategically placed hits. On the other hand, the Voyager's bats were stymied by the Paddlehead starter and didn't get a hit until the 4th inning when Riley Jepson put one into left field. He was unable to get knocked home, however.
The Paddleheads kept the pressure on as they put up two in the 5th and one more in the 7th. The Voyager's second hit of the game came in the 5th inning when Jaylyn Williams had a hard-hit line drive to left but could only get to second base.
The opponents continued their scoring in the 8th with two runs and one in the 9th to end the game with 10. The Voyagers, however, were unable to get the bats on track ending the game with only five hits compared to twenty for the Paddleheads.
The Voyagers will look to get things going on the winning track as they take on Missoula in game six of the six-game series on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
