Mustangs Drop Heartbreaking See-Saw Battle 13-12

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Charley Hesse ripped a double in the right-center field gap to score the game-winning run as the Voyagers walk off the 'Stangs by a score of 13-12.

Early in the game, the Mustangs wasted no time asserting their dominance. They struck first in the opening inning when Taylor Lomack scored, giving them an early 1-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Mustangs extended their advantage. Emmanuel Sanchez and Mikey Edie each delivered RBIs, pushing the lead to 3-0.

However, the Voyagers quickly responded in the bottom of the second. Led by Ryan Peltier's double, they rallied for four runs, tying the game at 4-4.

The Voyagers continued to build on their momentum in the third inning, capitalizing on some defensive miscues from the Mustangs. They added five more runs, taking a commanding 9-4 lead.

But the Mustangs were not ones to be discouraged. In the top of the third, Alejandro Figueredo's double brought home two runs, narrowing the gap to 9-6. They followed up with four more runs in the fourth inning, tying the game at 9-9.

The Voyagers managed to sneak ahead once again in the bottom of the fourth, with Jaylyn Williams driving in a run, putting them up 10-9.

In the fifth inning, the Mustangs fought back, with Bryce Donovan's heads-up baserunning resulting in a run to tie the game at 10-10.

In the sixth inning, Alejandro Figueredo's clutch hit brought in another run, giving the Mustangs an 11-10 lead.

The seventh inning saw a moment of brilliance from the Mustangs as Bryce Donovan blasted a home run, extending their lead to 12-10.

However, the Voyagers weren't ready to give up just yet. In the bottom of the ninth, with the game on the line, they staged a remarkable comeback. A sacrifice fly from Anthony Herron Jr. brought in a run, bringing the score to 12-11.

Then, the Voyagers walked off the Mustangs on the Hesse double. With it all said and done, there were nine lead changes and five ties this evening.

It was a tough loss for the Mustangs, who fought hard throughout the game. The Voyagers' late-game heroics secured them a memorable win, leaving the Mustangs to regroup and prepare for their next challenge.
