Voyagers Win Series; Stay in First Place in North Division

Great Falls Walks away with another series win
(Great Falls, MT) - The Great Falls Voyagers remained in first place in the North thanks to another win and a lot of help from the Billings Mustangs pitchers. The Voyagers got off to a great start in the early innings as Jaylyn Williams smacked two hits and recorded two RBIs in the first three innings. Langston Ginder launched a ball over the right field wall for his first home run of the year to increase the lead to 5-1. Then, the floodgates opened. The sixth inning was a complete disaster for the Mustangs as they allowed 11 walks, a hit by pitch, and nine hits. The Voyagers batted around twice as they poured on 16 runs in a half-inning that lasted just under an hour. The inning also included a three-run homer by Anthony Herron Jr. The Mustangs would string together an impressive 7th inning offensively as they scored six runs with a 2 RBI triple for Connor Denning and a home run by Gabe Wurtz, but it was nowhere near enough after the 6th inning eruption. Great Falls will look to keep their momentum as they travel to Missoula for a three-game series against the Paddleheads starting on Tuesday. This will be a pivotal series as both teams look to take control of the division.
