Chukars Limited to Four Hits in 7-3 Loss to Great Falls

GREAT FALLS, MT - The Idaho Falls Chukars (5-2) were limited to just four hits in a 7-3 defeat to the Great Falls Voyagers (4-3) on Tuesday night at Centene Stadium. With the loss, the Chukars now have a 2-7 record against the Voyagers.

The Chukars opened the scoring against Voyagers starter Matt Thomas in the second. Thomas DeBonville singled home Jose Reyes on a single to right field, and Brady West hit a sac fly to left field to make it 2-0.

Great Falls got on the board in the fourth against Victor Rodriguez (L, 2-1) on an RBI single from Christopher Monroe, that cut into the deficit, 2-1.

In the seventh, DeBonville hit a double that hit Thomas in the head, pulling him from the game. Facing Anthony Becwrra-Lopez (W, 3-1), DeBonville came across to score on a fielder's choice from Eric Callahan, extending the Chukars lead 3-1.

However it would be all Voyagers for the rest of the game. Four runs scored in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk, a two-run single up the middle, and an RBI single to right field gave the Voyagers a 5-3 lead over the Chukars.

The Voyagers grew their lead in the eighth against Keagan McGinnis. A leadoff homer from Breyon Daniel and an RBi single from Collin Runge capped the scoring, 7-3. Montan Quigley retired the Chukars 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth, securing the Voyagers win.

The series continues tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Both starters are TBD. THe game can be listened to on KSPZ The Sports Zone, with a pregame show beginning at 6:50 p.m.
