Voyagers Come Back Attempt Falls Short

(Great Falls, Mt. ) The Great Falls Voyagers (15-31) have shown they will never give up in a game, no matter the score. They showed that again on the final night of the first half of the season as they took on the Missoula Paddleheads ( 35-13).
The Voyagers found themselves trailing after 6 1/2 innings 8-0. The bats for the Voyagers had been cold all night until that point, only having seven hits through 6 innings. Then the boys of Summer came alive as Langston Ginder started the 7th inning off with a triple to left field as the left fielder for the Paddleheads lost the ball, and it dropped behind him. Ginder was brought home on the second hit of the game by a pitcher...I mean, right fielder Brady Held to center. Held moved to third on a single by Eddie McCabe to the right, who moved to second on a walk by Riley Jepson.
With the bases loaded, one out, and the Voyagers trailing 8-1, something had to happen, and happen it did. Jaylyn Williams, who had been 2 for 3 in his previous at-bats, hit a double down the right field line clearing the bases and making it 8-4. With two out, Anthony Herron Jr. came through with a single to center to score Willams, making it 8-5.
Unfortunately for the Voyagers, that was all they could push across the plate for the rest of the game, as relief pitcher Andrew Garcia kept the Paddleheads off the scoreboard. The Voyagers will have a couple of days off, then take the long trip to Boise, Idaho, to take on the Boise Hawks for six games before returning home to face the Billings Mustangs on July 25th for a six-game series.
With the start of the second half of the season starting with the Boise series, the Voyagers look to turn things around and make a push for the playoffs this season. Take advantage of the excitement when the Voyagers come back to town!!
